Principal Strategy Planner (Environment) at Transport for London
Jo Boyd-Wallis is a Principal Strategy Planner in Transport for London’s (TfL’s) Surface Transport Strategy & Planning Directorate. TfL manages London’s public transport and strategic road networks as well London’s Congestion Charge and Low Emission Zones.
Jo’s focus is on developing policy to reduce road transport emissions, particularly encouraging a switch to EVs. She produced London’s Ultra Low Emission Vehicle Delivery Plan in 2015 and has undertaken a number of studies to better understand the likely uptake of EVs in the next 10 years and the charging needs of London’s future EV users.
She is involved in TfL’s EV charging infrastructure delivery projects, including the Go Ultra Low Cities Scheme and Rapid Charge Point Network. These projects will deliver vital charging infrastructure by 2020 and support residents and commercial drivers to make the switch to EVs. She is also involved in setting the longer term vision for delivering mainstream adoption of EVs through the new Mayor’s Transport Strategy, which is currently in development.
